Dose of Salts
Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) are made up of a naturally occurring mineral that is found in water. Who knew that such an uninspiring ingredient could inspire such devotion?
Epsom salts have amazing health benefits. Soaking in a tub full of hot water with a few cups of Epsom salts is good for relaxing muscles and drawing toxins from the body, but is also a sedative for the nervous system. When it is absorbed through the skin, such as in a bath, it also reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and and restores a sense of well being.
Likewise, natural sea salts seem to have the same therapeutic qualities for those who wade, paddle, swim, or surf in the sea. Even just the positive ions whipped up by the wind or the surf can have a refreshing effect on the beach walker or sunbather.
I hope that this website would refresh you with it’s images and also motivate you to indulge in some way in the sea salts of our beautiful beaches, with all their varied moods.
Being a frequent visitor to the local Gisborne beaches means I get to see the beaches in all their various moods. This provides me with fantastic photo opportunities.
I endeavour to post daily images of the local beaches and surf, both for my own pleasure and for the enjoyment of friends and fellow surfers. Capturing the scenic beauty of our beaches is also supplemented with my interest in other landscape themes, along with local scenes and events, including the quirky and some with a personal touch.
